Famous as the world's largest open submission show, there are certain things the Summer Exhibition delivers on every single year: a panorama of art in all mediums, a remarkable mixture of emerging artists and household names, and more to see and explore than any other exhibition you are likely to visit this year. Co-ordinator Richard Wilson RA says we can expect this year's edition of the Summer Exhibition to be "unpredictable, stimulating and startling." As in previous years, most works will be for sale, giving the visitor the opportunity to own original artworks by leading artists of today and tomorrow.
The exhibition will include two new woodcuts by German sculptor Stephan Balkenhol, and Yinka Shonibare MBE's ‘Balloon Man' which debuted last year at Stephen Friedman Gallery's 'Twentieth Anniversary Exhibition'.
The Summer Exhibition runs from 13 June until 21 August 2016.
