The Smithsonian Summer Showdown is looking for the one item that says "SMITHSONIAN" like nothing else - and you get to decide the winner.

Each wing of the Smithsonian Institute has selected a piece that best represents that museum's respective interests and vision - and Chris Kreamer, Chief Curator and Deputy Director of the National Museum of African Art has chosen Black Gold I by Yinka Shonibare MBE.

These selected titans of the Smithsonian will battle head-to-head through three rounds until there is ONE winner.

The Smithsonian Summer Showdown will run from 28 July until 19 August 2014.

The winner will be announced on Tuesday 19 August!
