Deborah Roberts in Conversation with Connie Choi

Deborah Roberts is in conversation with Connie Choi as part of the Louis A. and Frances B. Wagner Lecture Series at McNay Art Museum, Texas. Combining collage with mixed media, Roberts' figurative works depict the complexity of Black subjecthood and explore themes of race, identity and gender politics. Roberts says, "When you look at my work, you have to look at every part of the face and make something out of those fragments." Connie Choi is a curator and writer at the Studio Museum, Harlem.
