Claire Barclay is a leading figure in a generation of young artists who have re-engaged with craft techniques and the symbolic resonance of materials. To coincide with her Bloomberg Commission Shadow Spans, Barclay has created this exquisite hand screen-printed edition that echoes some of the motifs used in her installation.

Claire Barclay was born in Paisley, Scotland in 1968 and is a graduate of Glasgow School of Art. Barclay represented Scotland at the 2003 Venice Biennale and her work has also been included in several other high profile national and international exhibitions such as British Art Show 6 (2005) and Any Where, Centre for Curatorial Studies, Bard College, New York State (2002). Most recently Barclay has made solo shows for MUDAM, Luxembourg, Fruitmarket Gallery, Edinburgh and Stephen Friedman Gallery, London.
