Stephen Friedman Gallery is a leading contemporary art gallery that represents exceptional artists from around the world. We are distinguished by the calibre of our programme and our strong and personal relationships in the art world.

Since its inauguration in 1995, Stephen Friedman Gallery has been based in Mayfair on Old Burlington Street. The gallery now has three spaces in which it hosts solo and group exhibitions throughout the year. Additional works can be viewed by appointment in private rooms and office spaces. There is also a facility to exhibit outdoor sculpture in a landscaped private garden.

The gallery represents over thirty living artists and Estates with areas of interest that include conceptual and South American art, and abstraction, minimalism and figuration in painting, sculpture, video and installation.

The gallery has an international programme and has overseen the rise of multiple high-profile artists including David Shrigley (British) and Yinka Shonibare CBE (British Nigerian); Tom Friedman, Jim Hodges and Kehinde Wiley (American); Rivane Neuenschwander and Luiz Zerbini (Brazilian); Mamma Andersson and Andreas Eriksson (Swedish) and Kendell Geers (South African), amongst others. The gallery also works directly with the estates of Manuel Espinosa and Jiro Takamatsu, enhancing its primary programme of contemporary art with historical presentations of twentieth century masters.

At Stephen Friedman Gallery we choose the broadest possible view of diversity. We are committed to making the practice of equality and inclusion central to our mission and daily goals. We believe diversity drives creativity. Encompassing varied perspectives helps generate new dialogues and ideas to navigate our changing world.
