Stephen Friedman Gallery and Goodman Gallery are pleased to announce a collaborative presentation at Art Basel Miami Beach 2025, centred on a significant selection from Yinka Shonibare’s Library collections (2014-2025).

The Studio Museum in Harlem reopened on 15 November after a seven-year redevelopment project. We are pleased to share that Deborah Roberts’ work Stinney (2019), part of the museum’s permanent collection, is currently on view.

The Rose is an exploration of collage as feminist form, strategy, and genealogy. The exhibition includes works by fifty contemporary artists, as well as several key figures from the 1960s and 70s.

Deborah Roberts: 'Come walk in my shoes' is the first solo museum exhibition in New Mexico of Roberts’ work. The exhibition presents a selection of figurative collages and paintings combining found images with hand-painted details centred on the experiences of black boyhood in the United States.

'True Believers: Benny Andrews & Deborah Roberts' provides a historic and contemporary view of the Black experience in America through the work of two artists from different generations. This exhibition explores the deep connections between the work of two artists in relation to formal similarities, specifically their use of collage, as well as their shared interest in themes of activism, racial injustice, family, and religion.

The Brooklyn Museum’s presentation spotlights works by Black diasporic artists, part of our ongoing efforts to expand the art-historical narrative. 

'One History, Two Versions' features art by contemporary Black artists that expands on themes in the traveling exhibition including Black life, Black love, media representation, and activism. 

'A Superlative Palette' brings together the work of twelve contemporary Black women artists from around the world.

'To Begin Again: Artists and Childhood' features an international and intergenerational group of 40 artists whose works in painting, sculpture, photography, installation, and video illustrate the diverse experiences of childhood. Through six thematic sections, 'To Begin Again' explores how artists have engaged with issues of self-expression, creativity, power, care, labour, and learning through the subject of childhood.

'I Can't Breathe' is a group exhibition that both recognises the suffering of people of colour in a racist society, and provides space for group mourning, healing and hope.

Tiny Traces' presents a rich history of London life from 1739-1820, a key period in Britain’s colonial past, through the stories of children from the African and Asian diasporas in the care of the eighteenth-century Foundling Hospital. Running as a parallel thread throughout the exhibition, works of art from leading contemporary artists, including Deborah Roberts and Kehinde Wiley, form a dialogue with the historic narratives.

The Katherine E. Nash Gallery presents 'A Picture Gallery of the Soul', a group exhibition of over 100 Black American artists whose practice incorporates photography.  Featuring a range of photographic expressions from traditional photography to mixed media and conceptual art, the exhibition honours, celebrates, investigates, and interprets Black history, culture, and politics in the United States.

Stephen Friedman Gallery brings together artists Mamma Andersson, Leilah Babirye, Sarah Ball, Denzil Forrester, Hulda Guzmán, Deborah Roberts, Anne Rothenstein, Jiro Takamatsu and Caroline Walker for the first ever edition of Frieze Seoul. Each artist represents unique perspectives on figuration and landscape with new paintings and sculptures.

'Women Painting Women' is a thematic exhibition featuring 46 female artists who choose women as subject matter in their works. This presentation includes approximately 50 evocative portraits that span the late 1960s to the present. International in scope, 'Women Painting Women' recognises female perspectives that have been underrepresented in the history of postwar figuration.
