Manuel Espinosa, Black and White: Works on Paper from the 1970s
16 November 2018 - 18 January 2019Stephen Friedman Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition of monochrome works on paper by Argentine artist Manuel Espinosa (1912 - 2006) in Gallery Two. This small presentation will coincide with the launch of a new publication at the Royal Academy of Arts, London on Thursday 29 November 2018 that looks at the trajectory of Espinosa's works on paper throughout his career.
23 March 2018 - 21 April 2018Stephen Friedman Gallery is delighted to present Manuel Espinosa's second exhibition in London. Espinosa (1912-2006) was one of Argentina's most important post-war abstract painters. This is his first survey exhibition in Europe and it features paintings and works on paper dating from the 1950s to the 1980s.
5 February 2014 - 8 March 2014Stephen Friedman Gallery is pleased to present Argentinian artist Manuel Espinosa's first ever European solo exhibition. Considered one of South America's most innovative painters, Espinosa (1912-2006) was a leading proponent of Concrete art who embraced variation as a true method of exploring and understanding form. This exhibition, organised with the estate of the artist, includes paintings from 1968-1970 and drawings from 1968-1983 and follows on from the artist's major 2013 retrospective at Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Buenos Aires.
