Ged Quinn in 'Cake and Lemon Eaters' at Galerie Rudolfinum, Prague, Czech Republic

Gallery artist Ged Quinn forms part of a two-person show at Galerie Rudolfinum in Prague, Czech Republic. The exhibition presents the work of British artist Ged Quinn in a dialogue with the genre scenes and still lives of Viktor Pivovarov, a key representative of Russian conceptualism.

'Cake and Lemon Eaters' will feature works by artists who cite and interpret the iconic images of art history. Curated by Petr Nedoma, the fundamental idea at work revolves around aspects of realism; the arrangement of ideas about reality becoming a material reminder of the status of painting as a traditional artistic discipline, which, despite all of the development of new digital media does in fact not lose meaning, but rather abounds with timelessness.

The exhibition runs from 7 February to 20 April 2014.
