Rivane Neuenschwander: The Reading Box, The Moon, Misfortunes and Crimes
3 October 2017 - 11 November 2017'The Reading Box, The Moon, Misfortunes and Crimes' is Brazilian artist Rivane Neuenschwander's fifth exhibition at Stephen Friedman Gallery. The exhibition includes the artist's first four-channel projection, a new site-specific installation, collages and a group of her iconographic 'Ex-voto' paintings.
13 March 2008 - 12 April 2008The natural world has always been at the heart of Rivane Neuenschwander's work. Exploring nature's hidden and often chaotic logic, Neuenschwander has created a diverse and intimate body of work mapping and charting this evolving terrain. In her fourth exhibition at Stephen Friedman Gallery, the artist will present a major new installation alongside film, sculpture and work on paper.
1 February 2002 - 2 March 2002Stephen Friedman Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of new works by Brazilian artist Rivane Neuenschwander. With intellectual roots in the Neo-concretist movement of the 1970s, Neuenschwander's objects and installations display an intense interest in the life cycles and processes of a wide range of materials, such as dried flowers, snails, rice paper, desiccated insects, pepper and soap bubbles.
28 April 1999 - 29 May 1999For this exhibition Neuenschwander will make a site-specific geometrical drawing on the parkett gallery floor by placing marble dust in the gaps between the wooden boards. This very simple but precise gesture shows the pattern of the floor, traces the history of the space and makes visible what is not normally seen. It deals with absence and presence, the positive and the negative.
