Rivane Neuenschwander in ‘Southern Stars: An Exploration of Latin American Art’ at Art Paris 2019, Grand Palais, Paris, France

For its twenty first edition, Art Paris 2019 brings together 150 modern and contemporary art galleries in the majestic setting of the Grand Palais. Favouring a multidisciplinary and thematic approach, the fair places special emphasis this year on new horizons in Latin American Art with the exhibition, ‘Southern Stars: An Exploration of Latin American Art'.

This exhibition explores Latin American art from the 1960s to the present day. European, Asian and Latin American galleries present an ensemble of sixty Argentinean, Brazilian, Chilean, Colombian, Cuban, Mexican, Peruvian and Venezuelan artists. Alongside this presentation are projects including a video programme, installation artworks, and a presentation of works by Latin American women artists from the collection of Catherine Petitgas. Conferences at the Maison de l'Amérique Latine will explore the creative artistic culture of the continent.

‘Southern Stars: An Exploration of Latin American Art' is curated by the independent exhibition curator Valentina Locatelli, who is based in Switzerland.
