This multi-generational exhibition includes works that examine the physicality of the body, both in its relation to the construction of form, and as a generator of knowledge and agent of change and exchange in diverse spheres of life. Other works in the exhibition deal with familiar but largely intangible concepts such as death, love, imagination, memory, knowledge systems, and the unknown.
The artworks in Now Here is also Nowhere are ephemeral, immaterial, and embrace contingency; they are the result of orchestrated private and/or public actions. These works show that the desire to pose questions and address issues related to mind, body and soul have been and remain central to artistic practice.
Now Here is also Nowhere is curated by Luis Croquer, Deputy Director of Art and Education with assistance from Merith Bennett, Senior Curatorial Associate.
