Deborah Roberts joins Dr. Adrienne Childs (The Phillips Collection Senior Consulting Curator) to discuss her work featured in Multiplicity: Blackness in Contemporary American Collage.
The exhibiton explores contemporary collage reflecting the breadth and complexity of Black identity and experiences in the United States. By assembling pieces of paper, photographs, fabric, artists create unified compositions that offer poignant expressions of human experience, including shared history and memory, cultural hybridity and gender fluidity.
