‘Constructing Identity in America' is a group exhibition that takes as its starting point the permanent collection of Montclair Art Museum. Spanning the period from America's birth in 1776 to the present day, the show explores the evolution of American identity over time. Investigating portraiture, the country's geography and defining moments of social activism, the show provides a window into complex history of American identity.
