Yinka Shonbare CBE features in New Science and Art Exhibit, 'Being Human'

Wellcome Collection, London, UK
The Wellcome Collection will launch a new permanent exhibit, Being Human, this September. The new presentation will explore ideas of trust, identity and health in a changing world.

Divided into four sections - Genetics, Minds & Bodies, Infection, and Climate Breakdown, the new display will present about 50 artworks and objects that reflect our hopes and fears about new forms of medical knowledge, and our changing relationships with ourselves, each other and our suroundings. Yinka Shonibare CBE will present a new sculpture. A life-size sculpture of an astronaut wearing a suit printed in the artist's signature 'batik' fabric, the work forms part of Shonibare's celebrated 'Refugee Astronaut' series.

Exhibit launch: 5 September 2019
