Melvin Edwards presents a major survey exhibition, 'Brighter Days' Public Art Fund
For its 2020 season, Public Art Fund is holding five solo exhibitions by internationally acclaimed artists working across photography, installation, and sculpture. The exhibitions are temporarily postponed due to coronavirus.
A major thematic survey of sculptor Melvin Edwards’ work opens at City Hall Park this year. Bringing together works from the 1970s to the present for the first time, the exhibition, titled 'Brighter Days' consists of five large sculptures as well as a new piece conceived specifically for the show. Highlighting two key motifs — the chain and the rocking chair — the exhibition explores Edwards’ signature use of welded metal.
