David Shrigley contributes to 'The Great Big Art Exhibition'

Colchester-based visual arts organisation Firstsite is calling on the public to get creative during lockdown for ‘The Great Big Art Exhibition’. The project is supported by Plus Tate and museums nationwide including the National Gallery, Tate, British Museum, National Portrait Gallery, V&A, National Museums Liverpool, Royal Academy of Arts, the Ashmolean in Oxford and the Courtauld will select inspiring works from their collections to be used as templates.

Leading artists including Etel Adnan and Simone Fattal, Anish Kapoor, Tai Shani, Jeremy Deller, David Shrigley, Sonia Boyce and Ai Weiwei will choose a different theme each fortnight, inviting people across the UK to make a work of art to display in their windows or gardens. The project culminates with what the organisers describe as a “magical patchwork of national creativity” that will be revealed in the summer.
