On the occasion of its tenth anniversary, MAXXI presents an exhibition that represents the past ten years of the museum’s activity, aimed at providing a new perspective on the institution’s future. Curated by Hou Hanru, 1,200 images, archive interviews, texts and publications from the museum’s first decade are collated and presented according to thematic and chronological criteria: MAXXI and the City; The Multitude; Worlds; The Challenges of Reality and Do You Believe in Innovation? The exhibition is conceived as an analysis of the development of MAXXI in response to the great challenges of our time. Within the exhibition multimedia installations curated by the Dutch studio Inside-Outside by Petra Blaisse create an immersive environment focused on a multisensory experience. Visitors are invited to explore four central spaces and to engage in collective brainstorming, reflection and debate.
