Overview

In response to the isolating effects of the pandemic, ‘Art as Connection’ is designed as an experimental, socially focussed and accessible exhibition. Confronted with questions about isolation and exclusion, distrust, illness and death, the curatorial team at Aargauer Kunsthaus developed the exhibition in a consciously collective discourse with the invited artists. Many of the artistic contributions require the active participation of visitors or invite the public to get involved, creating opportunities for moments of solidarity and connection. Featured artists, contributors and collectives include: Mohamed Abdelkarim, Noor Abuarafeh, Amal Alhaag, Jasmina Al-Qaisi, Anthropie, Paloma Ayala,Sabian Baumann, Sabian Baumann, Cana Bilir-Meier, Dafne Boggeri, Feeltank Chicago, Criptonite, Thirza Cuthand, Mîrkan Deniz, Mîrkan Deniz, Lamin Fofana, Naomi Rincón Gallardo, Clare Goodwin, Maria Guggenbichler, İpek Hamzaoğlu, Samia Henni, Thomas Hirschhorn, Suza Husse, Maria Iorio, Hemauer / Keller, Ayoung Kim, Laura Arminda Kingsley, Chantal Küng, Cannach MacBride, Jasmina Metwaly, Karin Michalski, Karin Michalski, Maria Negoro, Miwa Negoro, Hichmoul Pilon Production, Cecilia Quadri, Tina Reden, Romy Rüegger,...
