When Israel banned the Palestinian flag and its colours in Gaza and the West Bank in 1967, activists responded by carrying around watermelons. Over 50 years later, fundraising group Artists Against Apartheid has asked 24 artists including Alvaro Barrington, Lisa Brice and Peter Doig to create works incorporating the fruit. The resulting poster sale, priced at £120 each, will raise funds for Medical Aid for Palestinians, a charity that provides sustainable local healthcare to those living under occupation.

The full list of contributing artists includes: Alvaro Barrington, Huma Bhabha, Lisa Brice, Adam Broomberg, Banu Cennetoglu, Shezad Dawood, Jeremy Deller, Peter Doig, Sam Durant, Hadi Fallahpisheh, Satoshi Kojima, Stanislava Kovalcikova, Florian Krewer, Adriana Lara, Mateo Lopez, Alastair Mackinven, Rosalind Nashashibi, Suha Traboulsi in collaboration with W. Raad, Michael Rakowitz, Alessandra Sanguinetti, Larissa Sansour, Dylan Solomon Kraus, Abbas Zahedi and Ali Yass.
