Kendell Geers features in 'Dark Fantasy'
UTA Artist Space, California, USA
'Dark Fantasy' is a group exhibition at UTA Artist Space, California presented in collaboration with Carpenters Workshop Gallery and curated by gallery director Ashlee Harrison. The exhibition explores the concept of Archeofuturism through the 'functional' art of 24 artists from the Gallery programme. Showcasing traditional master crafts as well as recently developed techniques, the exhibition displays works that allude to bygone eras of production whilst toying with forms that hint at new possibilities for development.
Following on from the Carpenters Workshop Gallery exhibition, ‘DYSFUNCTIONAL' (2018), 'Dark Fantasy' marks the first exhibition of Carpenters Workshop Gallery in Los Angeles. The exhibition is also the LA debut of Virgil Abloh's Acqua Alta series, a new site-specific installation by Studio Drift, a major work by Nacho Carbonell, and the premiere of Reclining Nude, 2019 by Atelier Van Lieshout.
