Kendell Geers features in 'Road to Justice'
MAXXI, Rome, Italy
Addressing the wounds and the violence present in African society, 'Road to Justice' features nine artists who tackle the search for possible solutions. Running parallel to 'African Metropolis', this experimental exhibition integrates work from the museum collection with others concerned with life on the continent.
South African artist Kendell Geers is a powerful contribution to this exhibition. Amongst the works selected is his 'T.W. Batons (Circle)' which, constructed from police batons, demands that the viewer confront the reality of institutionalised violence.
