Channing Hansen is selected for Frieze Projects at Frieze Los Angeles 2020

Frieze Los Angeles, which debuted in February, has announced plans for ‘Frieze Projects' 2020. Alongside 70 galleries within its main tent, the fair will present 16 site-specific performances, sculptures and installations, scattered throughout the Paramount backlot. Los Angeles County Museum of Art curator Rita Gonzalez and Vincent Price Art Museum Director Pilar Tompkins Rivas are organizing this portion of the fair.

The 'Tuesday Talks' series presents leading artists, thinkers and curators who explore the driving forces, influences and sources of inspiration within contemporary art. The series is a collaboration between The Whitworth and Manchester Metropolitan University and is programmed by Pavel Büchler.

Melvin Edwards is Awarded United States Artists Fellowship 2020

We are delighted to congratulate Melvin Edwards on receiving the coveted United States Artists Fellowship. The US Artists Fellowship 2020 has been awarded to fifty artists working across ten creative disciplines, each of whom will receive $50,000 unrestricted grant.

'Justice for All' by Yinka Shonibare CBE goes on display at Arts House, Singapore

The Asian Art Institutum, together with The Arts House and Stephen Friedman Gallery, London, are pleased to present Justice for All, an immersive, site-specific installation by acclaimed British-Nigerian artist Yinka Shonibare CBE, RA. The exhibition has been curated by Dr Zehra Jumabhoy, Courtauld Institute of Art, London, to coincide with Singapore Art Week and the Singapore Biennale 2020. 

Conversation: Melvin Edwards with Jill Moniz at California African American Museum, California, USA

Pioneering contemporary artist Melvin Edwards joins LA Blacksmith curator Jill Moniz in a discussion of the artist's work. Edwards employs metalwork and abstraction to invoke social injustice and the African-American experience, as evidenced in his work 'My Turn to Burn' - a response to the 1965 Watts Rebellion - which is currently on display at CAAM.

NATURE – Home & Workplace is a touring group exhibition opening at Nuuk Kunstmuseum in Greenland that explores contemporary visual art inspired by the Nordic landscape. The exhibition was developed by Johannes Larsen Museum in cooperation with artist Lisbeth Eugenie Christensen and was inspired by Johannes Larsen's close work with nature.
