‘Fabric: Textile as Artistic Material’ explores the role of textiles in art from classical modernism to the present.

'The Magic of the Silver Swan' celebrates automata. It centres the silver swan, one of the most prized pieces in the castle's collection, presented alongside other artefacts and a range of works by contemporary artists, makers, designers and inventors.

'Threads' brings together works by 21 textile artists. Celebrating material and making, these artists use the storytelling power of textiles to connect with past traditions, find commonalities between cultures, time and place, and to ‘breathe stories into materials’.

'Lagos, Peckham, Repeat: Pilgrimage to the Lakes' is a group exhibition looking at the connections between Lagos in Nigeria and Peckham in South East London.

'The Festival: Between Representation and Revolt' explores the possibility for change vested in an organised gathering. It explores the idea of a festival as both a manifestation of societal and artistic movements, and the prompting of future cultural shifts.

'The World Reimagined' is a ground-breaking, national art education project to transform how the Transatlantic Slave Trade is understood and its lasting impact on all of us. A globe created by Yinka Shonibare CBE RA is on view alongside 95 others at Trafalgar Square on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 November. Eighteen of the globes including Shonibare's will be auctioned by Bonhams in support of the charitable project.

‘A Gateway To Possible Worlds’ brings together over 200 works from the late 1960s to the present day. The exhibition explores the world of science fiction as an expression of the present and a complex tool for understanding the future, which it helps to construct and predict. 

ICA and Sotheby’s join forces to raise funds to benefit the pioneering contemporary art institution in its 75th year. Yinka Shonibare CBE RA has created an entirely new piece for the sale, titled 'Modern Magic (Bangwa Queen)', 2022.

Nationalmuseum present a seminar on Yinka Shonibare CBE RA and his art, global trade, art collections and museum history. The seminar is arranged by Prinsessan Estelles stiftelse with lectures and panel discussions with representatives from the Ethnographic Museum, Stockholm School of Economics, Moderna Museet and Magasin III Museum for Contemporary Art.

The World Reimagined globe trails, are series of 103 unique public artworks that explore the history and legacy of the Transatlantic Trade as part of a UK-wide art and education initiative. The nationwide project aims to transform how we understand the Transatlantic Slave Trade and its impact. 

Yinka Shonibare CBE RA will be celebrated at Anderson Ranch Arts Center at a series of events during their annual Recognition Week including a gala dinner and live benefit auction on 14 July. The proceeds of the auction will support the non profit arts centre to provide workshops and extended residencies for the local community and international artists. 

The final instalment of the RWA’s elements series, ‘Earth: Digging Deep in British Art 1781-2022’ is a major exhibition spanning four centuries of artwork. The group exhibition tackles the most expansive and urgent of subject matters, bringing together important modern, historical and contemporary artworks.
