Ana Cláudia Almeida participates in 'A Place That Is Not Here'
A Place That Is Not Here is an exhibition of works created by the Black student cohort of Yale School of Art. Hosted at the Afro-American Cultural Center at Yale University, the exhibition showcases a diverse range of works in painting, sculpture, photography and graphic design, that transport viewers to diasporic worlds using traditional and speculative materials.
A testament to the power of personal and political research, the show reflects the resilient spirit of our communities in a world that is rapidly changing. It is a celebration of the ways in which we care for each other in times of crisis, and how we continue to create beauty and meaning in a world that is on fire.
Participating artists include Ana Cláudia Almeida, Anietié Ekanem, Avion Pearce, Christopher Desanges, Cierra Peters, Gozie Ojini, Jaamal Benjamin, Jeremy Grier, Jesús Hilario-Reyes, Justin Emmanuel Dumas, Kayla Monae' Hawkins, Louise Mandumbwa, Marcelline Mandeng Nken, Sidney "Sage" Cain, and Theo Haggi.
