Denzil Forrester features in London Calling at Kunstmuseum Den Haag, organised in collaboration with Tate. The first major survey of its kind in the Netherlands, the exhibition brings together highlights of postwar British figurative painting, offering a snapshot of twentieth century London.
The exhibition also features works by Francis Bacon, Eva Frankfurther, Lucian Freud, David Hockney, Celia Paul and Paula Rego, forming a broader circle around the “School of London”. In this way, London Calling captures a broader picture of the figures, relationships and interiors of a city at the crossroads of ideas.
