Focussing on the central theme of the flower, the exhibition will include important works by Yinka Shonibare CBE. Used to celebrate beauty, life and love, flowers are complex symbols that have been used to connote national, collective, and ideological identity, as well as personal relationships. In this exhibition, the multiple resonances of the flower become a way of exploring Shonibare's early work.
