David Shrigley features in '4 Bed Detached Home of Metal'

New Art Gallery, Walsall, UK

'4 Bed Detached Home of Metal' is a unique group exhibition created by British artist Alan Kane. For this exhibition, Kane transforms New Art Gallery, Walsall into a domestic space centred on a love of metal in both its material and musical forms. Conceived of as a metal ‘lounge', the galleries playfully confound notions of public and private space and expectations of scale, purpose and value.

Participating artists include Jeremy Deller, Una Hamilton Helle, Des Hughes, Jim Lambie, Sarah Lucas, Jessica Mallock, Mike Nelson, Simon Periton, David Shrigley, Mark Titchner, Hayley Tompkins, Cathy Ward, Charlie Woolley, Eric Wright and Kane himself. Collections belonging to Midlands metal fans are also on display, from Kayleigh's collection relating to the American band Halestorm, to 9 year old Millie's collections of skulls and rocks.
