Yinka Shonibare CBE features in the Summer Exhibition 2020

Royal Academy of Arts, London, England

252 years ago, a group of artists made it their mission to form an annual exhibition to support artists and architects, by showcasing art of the moment to the nation. 'The Summer Exhibition' has run uninterrupted ever since: a backdrop to famous artistic rivalries of the past and now an annual fixture of the summer calendar for art seekers.

For the first time in its history, the Royal Academy of Arts' Summer Exhibition falls in winter this year. Coordinated by artistic duo Jane and Louise Wilson RA. (This link opens in a new tab)., the exhibition features myriad household names including Tracey Emin, Denzil Forrester, Rebecca Horn, Anselm Kiefer, Julian Schnabel, Yinka Shonibare CBE, Gillian Wearing and Ai Weiwei as well as many emerging artists. Income from the Summer Exhibition supports both the exhibiting artists and the not-for-profit work of the RA.
