Art Basel Hong Kong

Stephen Friedman Gallery presents a group exhibition for Art Basel Hong Kong 2023.

Artists in the presentation include Mamma Andersson, Jonathan Baldock, Stephan Balkenhol, Caroline Coon, Andreas Eriksson, Denzil Forrester, Jeffrey Gibson, Wayne Gonzales, Hulda Guzmán, Channing Hansen, Holly Hendry, Anne Rothenstein, Yinka Shonibare CBE RA, David Shrigley and Luiz Zerbini. A separate solo presentation by artist Sarah Ball is incorporated for Kabinett, which includes a large new painting and pastel works on paper.

The presentation focuses on painting and sculpture, with themes of nature uniting artists Eriksson, Guzmán and Zerbini. Painters such as Coon and Rothenstein uniquely depict figuration in their work. Vibrant wall-based textiles and tapestries by Hansen and Shonibare are included, as well as a new series of large bronze masks by Baldock.

Sarah Ball was included in group exhibition, ‘I'm Stepping High, I'm Drifting, and There I Go Leaping’ at Xiao Museum of Contemporary Art, Rizhao, China in 2022 and is featured in ‘Being In the World: The Tenth Anniversary of the Long Museum’, Long Museum, Shanghai, until May 2023.

Luiz Zerbini’s major solo presentation ‘Trees’, travelled from Fondation Cartier in Paris, France to Power Station of Art, Shanghai, China in 2021.
