Inspired by feminism and the politics of sexual liberation, Caroline Coon’s unique paintings contest binary notions of gender and oppressive patriarchal values. Her works cover a variety of subjects including sex workers, beachgoers, intersex people, still lifes, football players and urban landscapes. All are united by Coon’s unwavering rebellion against the status quo. 

Nationalmuseum present a seminar on Yinka Shonibare CBE RA and his art, global trade, art collections and museum history. The seminar is arranged by Prinsessan Estelles stiftelse with lectures and panel discussions with representatives from the Ethnographic Museum, Stockholm School of Economics, Moderna Museet and Magasin III Museum for Contemporary Art.

Set across sites in Lagos and Ijebu, G.A.S. is a non-profit dedicated to facilitating cultural exchange through tailored residencies, public programs, and exhibition opportunities primarily for creative practitioners from Africa and the diaspora.

Kato lives and works between Tokyo and Hong Kong. He was born in 1969 in the Shimane prefecture of Japan, a sparsely populated province bordered by mountain and sea which houses Izumo Ōyashiro, one of the oldest and most significant shrines in Shintoism.
