Nigeria will present their national pavilion and exhibition 'Nigeria Imaginary' in the 60th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia 2024.

Jeffrey Gibson will represent the United States at La Biennale di Venezia, the 60th International Art Exhibition. Celebrated for an artistic practice that combines American, Indigenous, and Queer histories with influences from music and pop culture, Gibson creates a dynamic visual language that reflects the inherent diversity and hybridity of American culture.

Stephen Friedman Gallery presents ‘Free The Wind, The Spirit, and The Sun’ – a new exhibition by British-Nigerian artist Yinka Shonibare CBE RA – and the first to take place at its new London home on Cork Street, Mayfair.

Direct allusions to art history can be seen in both artists' works and two-person exhibition 'About Hill', explores the context of Nordic painting and the art of Carl Fredrik Hill (1849-1911). For this exhibition both artists have created a series of brand new works, all related to the great Swedish artist.

This exhibition and related performance Jeffrey Gibson: 'THE SPIRITS ARE LAUGHING' evolves out of conversations around Indigenous kinship philosophy—the idea of seeing the land as an extension of one’s own family or oneself, and prioritises looking at everything in our surroundings as an equal living entity.
